Which flooring should I get, laminate or hardwood?

Laminate flooring is easy to install and costs less than hardwood flooring. However, I’ve noticed that they also tend to lose their polish faster and it’s a lot harder to restore a shine to laminate flooring. Also, laminate flooring tends to get loose and gaps between the slates can form in a few years’ time.Hardwood flooring on the other hand is expensive. But they last a lot longer and they can be polished over and over to maintain a brilliant shine. They are also easy to maintain although you must be careful not to let water soak into it so cleaning it with a dry a mop as possible is a good idea.
Personally, I would lean more toward hardwood flooring, assuming you can afford it. In either case, the benefits of wood flooring are so much better than carpet. With wood flooring, you avoid the problems of carpeting: allergies, asthma, and respiratory problems, etc., not to mention the trouble it takes to clean and maintain carpeting.
