Resurfacing Hardwood Floors – MN
This is probably the most commonly asked question we get. The main things to consider here are; when was the last time the floors had attention, were your floors site finished or factory finished, and are you striving for perfection or can you live with some imperfections?
First, most floors that have not had any attention in more than 5 years are not ideal for sandless restoration.
Next, Floors finished in the factory, typically have aluminum oxide finishes. These finishes present issues with bonding of a new finish, so most times these floors also can not get away with just a sandless restoration.
Also, if you want the floors to look as closely to new as possible, then recoating also may not be for you..
